Book Sale with SF books – special OSFS showing Thu May 8th

First Baptist Church, located at 140 Laurier Ave W (corner of Laurier and Elgin) will have its annual Book and Plant Sale on May 8 thru 10, 2014.  We have a huge number science fiction books and magazines at greatly discounted prices.  On Thursday, May 8 we are offering Ottawa Science Fiction Society members the chance to browse and purchase books in our science fiction collection, prior to the official sale.

Celebrate the 20th anniversary of “X-Files” Fri Sep 13th

You are invited to mark the 20th anniversary of paranormal TV series The X-Files with a block party and movie screening at the intersection of Mulder Avenue and Scully Way in Orleans on Friday Sept. 13

After sundown, residents are expected to fill the intersection with lawn chairs as they watch the 2008 flick, The X-Files: I Want to Believe, on a large screen.

Proceeds from admission donations and a 50/50 draw will support Habitat for Humanity National Capital Region. There will be food trucks and washrooms on site.
